Commission Vacancy Update

Port Announces Nomination for the At Large Port Commission Seat; Seeks Public Nominees

 

March 31, 2025- The Port of Edmonds Commission has appointed the following nominee for the At Large Port Commission seat:

 

      • Ross Dimmick

 

A 15-day public notice period begins on April 2 and closes at April 17, 2025, for any further public nominations. Nominations must come from in-district registered voters and the nominee must reside within the Port district and submit an application by the deadline. The Commission will review eligible candidates and appoint a Commissioner for the At Large position from their nominee list or the public nominee list, at the April 28, 2025, public meeting.

 

Applications will be accepted through the close of business at 4:30 p.m. on April 17, 2025.

 

For interested candidates, the application process and requirements, application packet, and district map with boundary descriptions, are posted on the Port’s website: https://portofedmonds.gov/commission-opening/. Applicants must reside in the Port District.

Application Details:

Applicants are required to attach a cover letter with a resume in addition to completing the entire application form. You can submit your application packet by:

    • In-Person: 471 Admiral Way, Edmonds, WA 98020 between the hours of 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday.
    • USPS mail: Port of Edmonds at 471 Admiral Way Edmonds, WA 98020. Your application must reach us by the application due date.

 

Applicant Requirements:

    • Applicants must reside within the Port district and be registered to vote: Port District Map

 

Timeline:

    • Application period: February 26 – March 12
    • Potential interviews: March 24 – March 28
    • Vacancy occurs: March 30
    • Commission announces its nominee(s): March 31
    • Notice period to public of nominee(s): April 2 – 17
    • Potential interviews: April 21 – April 25
    • Commission expects to vote to approve candidate to fill vacancy: April 28
